I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. Why don’t the laid-off journalists just start their own magazines?
@capybro Because it's a startling transition from having stable, paid employment, to a strict meritocracy where if you don't attract readers, you don't eat.
Furthermore, it takes a great deal of time to build up the assets that Buzzfeed have spent the time and money to do. An audience, business processes, partnerships, distribution platforms.
While entirely possible, it'll be hard for them to bounce back, especially on account of the worthless, cancerous garbage they vomit onto a webpage.🤮 🔫
@consumption haha yeah man, I was joking. Because every time a conservative gets deplatformed, they’re all “it’s a free market though, right? So just build your own platform.”
@capybro why don't you become a hott girl, then maybe someone would give a shit about you.
@capybro Why build your own platform when Madcast Media is always looking for contributors?
Hello Dick and hello Dickheads, this is the Dick Show Mastodon for the foreseeable future.
